We've spent a lot of time discussing the reason the organizing your jewelry is a positive step to take to save you time, energy, and even money. But this week, we thought we'd change gears a little and concentrate on purchasing the right earrings for your face shape.
You might find it difficult to calculate the shape of your own face. However, there are a few easy tricks you can use in order to come to an educated answer.
First of all, pull your hair into a ponytail or better yet, look in the mirror immediately after stepping out of the shower while your hair is wet and slicked back. Then use a lipstick or an eyeliner pencil to trace the shape of your face onto the mirror. Typically, the shape of your face will stand out dramatically and it will be easy to discern the exact shape of your face. If you find that the shape of your face is unclear using the eyeliner method, you can measure and write down the following results: Measure your forehead, your cheekbones, and your jawbone. After that, measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chance and then draw your results on paper using straight lines and a “connect the dots” method.
Once you’ve determined the shape of your face, it's time to start selecting earrings that compliment that particular shape.
An oval-shaped face is usually suited best by earrings that widen and balance out the shape. Large oval-shaped earrings, as well as large hoops, larger round studs, and other "ball" shapes work best on an oval face. Avoid hearings that are long or dangling, as they will lengthen your face.
You'll find that the shape of a round face is best suited by earrings that create substantial balance. Angular shapes, such as squares and rectangles, often work well to counteract the visual effects of a round face. Also for round faces, it's important to avoid wearing tiny earrings. Tiny earrings can be overwhelmed by a round face.
And those who have heart-shaped faces will be better suited by earrings that balance out the cheekbones. It’s good idea to select earrings that are angular or flared. For example, select dangle earrings with a large object at the bottom and avoid wearing hoops or circle shaped earrings, as it will only add to a broad forehead.
If your face is triangular in shape, you will find small circular earrings or long dangly earrings work the best. You will also note that earrings with curves will soften the angles of a triangular shaped face and add an air of femininity. If your chin is pointed, you should avoid earrings that are pointed.
If you follow these quick tips and remember to dress for the occasion and suit your earrings to your clothing style. You'll find that you maintain a sense of fashion that will get noticed time and time again.
